Curious by nature and always looking for ways to do, think and design better.
How I got here:
I was fortunate to know what I wanted to do at a young age and—as you may have guessed–it was graphic design.
I took that passion and earned a Bachelor's degree from California State University, Long Beach. Soon after, I moved to Fort Worth, Texas, running the family business by day and focusing on my freelance design career at night. A few years later, I joined the design team at a PR agency in Dallas, where I designed, art directed and helped bring brands to life for more than five years. An opportunity brought me to the Pacific Northwest in 2018, where I am currently a Senior Graphic Designer in the commercial real estate industry in Seattle, Washington.
How I approach design:
A three-step process:
Let’s dive in. Get a full brief of the assignment. Take the time to research the client, competitors and review relevant materials to get a full understanding of the project.
Let’s design. Create artwork and develop initial layouts. Incorporate appropriate messaging to help solidify the design (I like to think of myself as an amateur copywriter).
Let’s do this. Share initial drafts with appropriate parties; take in feedback and revise until final delivery.
What else?
I enjoy reading, running, the outdoors and exploring. Guilty pleasures include House Hunters, reality food shows, Girl Scout cookies (I will never turn down a Samoa!) and I’m a sucker for wordplay and puns (dad jokes = the best jokes).
